General facts about Astelin

Astelin (Azelastine), is a histamine antagonist recommended as a first line treatment of mild intermittent, moderate and severe intermittent and moderate relentless rhinitis. Astelin (Azelastine) has actually been formulated both as a spray and as eye drops. Like lots of other antihistamines, it blocks histamines from triggering allergies in the patient's body. It is used directly on the locations impacted by allergies, enabling fast relief. Azelastine prevents sneezing, itching, runny nose, and other nasal symptoms of allergic reactions. Astelin is for seasonal allergic reactions in children and adults who are at least 2 years old, and for year-round allergies in grownups and children as young as 6 months old.It is safe and well tolerated in both adults and kids with allergic rhinitis. But just like any other medication it may trigger side effects. Typical side effects are a bitter taste in the mouth, drowsiness, a burning feeling inside the nose, nose bleeds, sneezing fits, cough, runny nose, nausea, muscle pains, dry mouth, headache, weight gain, and red eyes. Inform your physician or pharmacist without delay if any of these effects last or worsen.
